Nominees: Jonas Kaufmann, Christian Gerhaher & Andrew Shore

The Olivier Awards announced their nominees for the 2011 ceremonies taking place on March 13. Making the list for "Outstanding Achievement in Opera" are (from left to right): Andrew Shore, Christian Gerhaher and Jonas Kaufmann. Specific production information is after the jump.

German baritone and bass singer Gerhaher made his Royal Opera House debut as Wolfram von Eschinbach in Wagner’s battle of the sensual and spiritual, revived at the venue after more than 20 years.

The Munich-born opera star is nominated for his principal role as Maurizio in the first revival of Francesco Cilea’s romantic drama, Adriana Lecouvreur, at the Royal Opera House since 1906.
