The Marian Anderson Award has been created to celebrate the fundamental importance of the arts—those individuals who have used their talents for peronal artistic expresssion coupled with a commitment to the better ment of society. It is named in memory of the legendary singer and distinguished Philadelphian, Marian Anderson.
Past honorees include Richard Gere, Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Taylor and Harry Belafonte. The award ceremony will take place in Philadelphia, PA, this May.
