Diana Damrau Makes Bankers Weep

A private concert on January 9 costing €250,000 for about 600 guests took place at the Frankfurter Kaiserdom. The event was a benefit dubbed "Frankfurt baut das neue Städel." The first performance given post-pregnancy for the soprano included "Ave Maria" (Gounod),"Rejoice greatly" Messiah (Händel) and "Exsultate, jubilate" KV. 165 (Mozart). Details of the story and baby picture after the jump!

It was reported that audience members (including bankers, the mayor and other dignitaries) were moved to tears. Check out more photos of the event here.
