Want to Live in a Kansas Opera House?

"A $500,000 federal grant is turning an old El Dorado opera house into much-needed housing for the community. When it was originally built in 1884, the building housed Ellet's Opera House. It opened in downtown El Dorado, named after Civil War General Alfred Ellet. Today few reminders of that glory remain. 'Probably for the last 60 to 70 years, it was in this state of storage basically,' said David Wernli, developer. But soon, work will begin to transform this and another historical building, dating back to 1918, into apartments." [Source]
