What Is Missing From The 57th Annual GRAMMY Nominee List?

Nominations for the 57th Annual Grammy Awards came out today and there were some albums, artists, and labels, conspicuously missing from the classical opera, choral, and vocal, recital lists. Eligibility rules state that for the 57th Annual GRAMMY Awards albums must be released between October 1, 2013 and September 30, 2014. Patricia Petibon Gets Eccentric In A Very French Way For DG

"With this new record, soprano Patricia Petibon makes a welcome return to French repertoire on disc, exploring the fascinating world of French art song in this extraordinary new album, titled La Belle Excentrique. Patricia Petibon Explores Spanish Arias and Songs on DG

"Watch Patricia Petibon speak about her Deutsche Grammaphon album Melancolia and a trailer with behind-the-scenes clips of the recording session. Unique for her dramatic flair, expert musicality, and interpretive powers, soprano Patricia Petibon indulges in her love of Luso-Iberian music. From zarzuela to art song, folk song, the "Aria Cantilena" of Brazil's Villa-Lobos, and the traditional Afro-Brazilian "Ogundé uareré," Patricia Petibon also samples the new. She includes the world-premiere recording of Nicolas Bacri's song cycle, which was dedicated to her.
